1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using QuizForge (quizforge.ca), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. QuizForge is a product of, and is operated by, Hikari Grove Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Hikari Grove," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

QuizForge is an AI-powered practice quiz platform that generates exam-style questions for academic exams (USMLE, SAT, MCAT, GRE, etc.), school curriculum subjects, and trades/vocational certifications. The service includes quiz generation, study guide creation, spaced-repetition flashcards, progress tracking, and built-in study tools.

3. Account Registration

To use QuizForge, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under it. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Free Trial & Subscription

Free Trial: New users receive a 30-day free trial with access to every feature and a daily AI allowance (5 AI credits a day). To start the trial you pick a plan and add a card; the card is only charged when the 30 days end, and you can cancel before then to avoid any charge. One free trial is allowed per person and per card: if a card was already used for a QuizForge free trial, the plan you pick starts right away and the first payment is taken that day. When a trial or plan ends without a paid plan, the app is locked until you subscribe (any extra credits you bought still work until they run out).

Subscription Plans: After the trial, continued AI generation requires a paid plan. Every plan includes all features; plans differ only in the number of AI credits per day:

• Starter (Limited AI): US$59.99 per month or US$575.90 per year, 40 AI credits a day
• Plus (Moderate AI): US$99.99 per month or US$959.90 per year, 80 AI credits a day
• Pro (Liberal AI): US$159.99 per month or US$1,535.90 per year, 150 AI credits a day

Local currency: Prices are set in US dollars and shown in your local currency, converted at the day's exchange rate and rounded. You are charged in the currency shown at checkout, and that amount stays the same for your subscription.

Extra credits: One-time credit packs (100 credits for US$4.99, 250 credits for US$9.99) can be bought at any time. They are used after your daily credits run out, do not expire, and are non-refundable once used.

What's Included: The Starter, Plus and Pro plans provide access to all 100+ exams, all question types, the custom quiz creator, study guides, flashcards, and all built-in tools. The Student & Trades plan covers high-school courses, trades and vocational exams, and school-level exams (SAT, ACT, AP, IB, GED, A-Levels, GCSE, IGCSE, CBSE, HSC, JEE and NEET) together with the built-in study tools; other exams are not included. There are no per-exam charges. AI credits refresh daily at midnight UTC and unused daily credits do not carry over.

Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually). Payment is processed securely through Stripe. You can manage your subscription, update payment methods, or view billing history through the Customer Portal accessible from your Profile page.

4a. Free Accounts, Founding 100 & Fair Use

One person per account. Every QuizForge account belongs to one student. Sharing an account is not allowed — your progress, mistakes and recommendations are personal, and sharing mixes them up. We may suspend accounts that are shared or created to abuse an offer.

• Verified email: AI features unlock after you verify your email. Only verified accounts can claim a Founding 500 seat or count as a referral. Verification confirms inbox access; it does not by itself prove each account is a different person.
• One free year per verified email: a Founding 100 year can be claimed once per email. Signing in again or resetting your password never restarts it.
• One active study device: you can be signed in on your phone and laptop, but only one device studies at a time. Choosing "Continue here" saves progress and pauses the other device.
• Monthly AI credits: free trial accounts receive 75 AI credits per month (a new AI quiz uses 5, a Hikari message 1, a diagram 3), shared across all your devices and reset on the 1st of each month. You can use up to 5 credits per day; the daily amount refreshes at midnight UTC. Quizzes from our question bank and everything you've saved stay available when credits run out.
• Free-account limits: free accounts use a lighter Hikari model, have request-speed limits, and AI may pause for the day if overall free capacity is reached.
• Automatic end: Founding 100 access ends 12 months after you claim it. We'll remind you 30 and 7 days before. You're never charged unless you choose a paid plan.

5. Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Profile page or through the Stripe Customer Portal. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period.

If you are unsatisfied with QuizForge within the first 7 days of a paid subscription, contact us at contact@quizforge.ca and we will consider a full refund on a case-by-case basis.

6. AI-Generated Content

QuizForge uses artificial intelligence to generate quiz questions, study guides, and explanations. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, outdated information, or inaccuracies. Important disclaimers:

• QuizForge is a study and practice tool, not a substitute for textbooks, instructors, or official exam preparation materials.
• AI-generated medical questions (USMLE, NCLEX, MCAT) are for practice purposes only and should not be used for clinical decision-making.
• We do not guarantee that practicing with QuizForge will result in any specific exam score or outcome.
• Question difficulty, format, and content may differ from actual exams.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use QuizForge for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the AI prompts or question generation systems
• Create multiple accounts to abuse the free trial
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the service
• Upload harmful, illegal, or copyrighted material through the Custom Quiz Creator
• Interfere with or disrupt the service's infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of QuizForge — including the quiz engine, AI prompts, study guide templates, UI design, and branding — are owned by Hikari Grove Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws.

AI-generated quiz questions produced during your sessions are provided for your personal study use. You may print or save them for your own learning. You may not commercially redistribute, resell, or publish QuizForge-generated content.

9. User Content

When you upload study materials through the Custom Quiz Creator, you retain ownership of your original content. By uploading, you grant QuizForge a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of generating quiz questions for you. We do not share your uploaded materials with other users or third parties.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuizForge and Hikari Grove Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, exam failure, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

QuizForge is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for any particular exam.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Alberta, Canada.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by email notification. Continued use of QuizForge after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
